Choke from Behind
Drill: attacker makes Choke from Behind, defender defends; during counters, attacker steps back, then makes 360 attacker; defender makes 360 defense and finishes with counter attacks.

INTERMEDIATE CLASS (A3)
Defensive Back Kick with a Spin
Thai Pad Rounds: Round 1 - Freework combinations 1-5. Round 2 - Freework combinations 6-9. Round 3 - Freework combinations 1-9. During all rounds, pad holder should mix in calls for defensive back kick with a spin.
Ground - Arm Bar from Guard
Ground - Guard Reversal
Drill: King-of-the-hill. Depending on available space, pick up to 1/3 of your class to start as "King" of the hill. The Kings will always start on the bottom in guard. Another 1/3 of the class will be challengers. Challengers will always start on top in guard. The remaining 1/3 will be standing by on the edge of the mat waiting for an opening. Once challengers & kings are in their respective guard positions, the kings try to either execute an arm bar or guard reversal. The challengers try to improve their position (i.e. half-guard or better). Who ever succeeds first wins and remains on the mat as king. The loser joins the group on the side of the mat and is replaced by someone who was waiting.

ADVANCED CLASS (A3)
Spinning Heel Kick
Focus Mitt Rounds: 3, 2-min rounds. Free work combinations and movement. Add in spinning heel kicks on both sides.
Sliding Defense vs. Spinning Heel Kick
Stopping Defense vs. Spinning Heel Kick
Sparring Drill: 1-for-1, partners take turns throwing a combination of 2-5 strikes (medium speed, no power). Defender must incorporate movement and defenses to mitigate strikes. Both partners should try to incorporate spinning heel kicks into their combinations. Training Note: Defender's speed should always match attacker's speed. Students have a tendency to speed up their defenses when their know they're out of position. There's no power being thrown so attackers landing strikes should have little to no risk of injury for anyone.
