BEGINNER CLASS (A1)
Palm Heel Strike
Drill: Striking/Sprint/Push up Drill: defender strikes pad full speed at one end of the room; on command, he sprints to the other end of the room, does 5 (or 10) push ups, then sprints back to continue punching. To make the drill a little easier, have them start with slow punches, then increase speed when they return from running; then slow down again.
Basic Takedown Defense (position for giving knees)
Knees (straight and round)
360
Drill: defender's eyes are closed; attacker pushes, then makes 360 attack with right hand; defender defends, controls and gives knees; sometimes the attacker resists and tries to move in, sometimes not.

INTERMEDIATE CLASS (A1)
Front Kick Groin (review)
Front Kick with Advance
Defense v. Front Kick to Groin (redirecting with shin)
Review Inside Defenses
Drill: defend front kick or straight punch; new students should be limited to right kick and right punch only; more advanced students can do either hand AND include round kick and 360 attacks as well

ADVANCED CLASS (A1)
Thai Pads: 3 rounds of 2 minutes in opposite stance
Cavaliers 1-4
Knife Threat Dead Side
Drill: have the attacker resist and try to pull the knife away; defender must decide to continue holding or disengage; put pads around the room to use as shields; the defender should try to get to one of these objects if possible.
