Choke Front
Drill: Monkey in the Middle; groups of 5 - one defender, one pad holder, one attacker, and two people holding large shields. The person in the middle is pushed around (safely) by the two people with large shields, but does not fight back; at any time, the pad holder can jump in and hold for punches or kicks, and the defender must strike until the pad holder calls "time!" Also, another attacker can jump in with Choke From The Front. The drill continues until the instructor calls switch.

INTERMEDIATE CLASS (D2)
After warm up, review straight punches, hammerfist, side kick, back kick
Drill: Interference Drill - groups of 3; one pad. One person holds the pad, and another person must get to the pad and strike as many times as possible. The third person interferes, making it difficult. The striker CANNOT make any techniques against the person interfering, but can move around, push past, etc. In honor of the people who just took their test, do 2 rounds minimum!
Review All Chokes and Headlocks
Drill: Monkey in the Middle; groups of 5 - one defender, one pad holder, one attacker, and two people holding large shields. The person in the middle is pushed around (safely) by the two people with large shields, but does not fight back; at any time, the pad holder can jump in and hold for punches or kicks, and the defender must strike until the pad holder calls "time!" Also, another attacker can jump in with any self defense reviewed in class. The drill continues until the instructor calls switch.

ADVANCED CLASS (D2)
Focus Mitts: Thai pads - 2 minute rounds with 2 minute rest; but during the 2 minute rest you must run 200 meters. 3 rounds (the black belts did 5)

BEGINNER CLASS (B2)
Straight Punches
360 - include off angles, but ONLY live side! In other words, an attacker coming from the defender's left side should only attack with his right arm; an attacker coming from the defender's left should only attack with his right arm; this avoids the issue of dead side defenses and counters, which can complicate your lesson.
360 with counters (from level 2); include knees, etc.
Choke from Behind (review from last week)
Barrier Drill: for this drill, you need 2 attacker, one pad holder, and 6-8 people creating a barrier. Have several students hold large shields; they should stand in two columns, three or four rows deep. The first defender is attacked by another attacker with a 360 attack. He must defend and counterattack, and then push his way through the barrier. At the other end, there is a pad holder waiting. The defender must punch non-stop. Another attacker makes choke from behind.
SAFETY ISSUE! Tell the people in the barrier not to offer too much resistance. Tell the defender he must keep his arms down to avoid putting his fingers and elbows into other people's faces.

INTERMEDIATE CLASS (D2)

Sparring: attacker makes combination 1, partner defends; attacker makes combination 2, partner defends, etc. Work each combination several times before switching.
Sparring: defend combinations 1-4 in random order

Drill: 3 people
1 person stands with a pad at one end of the room, 2nd person stands at the other end of the room with their eyes closed. The 3rd person is the attacker, does either choke from the front, or choke from the front with a push. 2nd person defends, then runs down to the other end to make 10 Palm Heel strikes to the pad holder, then takes the pad. Meanwhile the 3rd person closes their eyes and waits for the 1st person to come and attack them. (rotating drill)
