Bearhug Front Leverage on Neck - have the attacker hide his head in different positions

Knife Threats - attacker resisting, pulling, punching with free hand, etc.
Knife Threat from Behind -- include attacker holding defender's left shoulder with his left hand (defender spins to the right)

Drill - flurries of strikes with Straight Punches and Hammerfist Forward

Drill: eyes closed; open on command; recognize distance and deliver Straight Punch or Front Kick Vertical Target; continue with additional strikes

Choke Principle - pluck
Have the students practice the pluck ONLY from the front, side and behind
Drill: eyes closed, feel the attack, make the plucking defense against any choke

Choke Behind - add counter
Drill: eyes closed, feel the attack, make the plucking defense and counter v. any choke
Drill: divide into two groups: one group, eyes closed; the other group walks around making any chokes lightly, the defenders defend. Then switch

INTERMEDIATE CLASS (A1)
Free work to warm up: straight punches, elbows, front kicks, etc.
Drill: partner moves around, presents target; striker must punch or kick non stop until pad holder calls time; then move around and repeat.
Forward Roll
Drill: eyes closed; partner pushes (lightly, to prevent neck injury) from behind with pad; defender makes forward roll and comes up facing the attacker; attacker presents pad for punches or kicks
Gun Front
Drill -as above, but attacker presents pad OR gun

ADVANCED CLASS (A1)
Warm up punches and kicks
Tabata drill: 4 rounds 20 seconds on, 10 seconds rest of punches; then 4 rounds of kicks

360 Defense
Drill: 360 Gauntlet -- students stand in two lines; the defender walks down the middle, and can be attacked with a 360 attack by any student. There is no limit to the number of students who can attack, but they MUST stay in line, and they CANNOT attack once the defender moves past them.
Choke From Behind
Drill: 360 Gauntlet with Choke -- the same drill as above, but once the defender moves past, an attacker may choke them from behind. (Only allow 1 or 2 attackers to make the choke.)

INTERMEDIATE CLASS (A1)
Straight Punches and Elbows (review)
Front Kick Vertical Target (review)
Drill: A/B Drill -- groups of 3; one pad holder at each end of the room (at least one should hold a kicking shield), the third person in the middle. When the instructor yells "A" the striker runs to one pad for Punches and Elbows; when the instructor yells "B" the striker runs to the other pad for Front Kick Vertical Target. Make them go back and forth until exhausted! One round each person.

Body Absorption - light work
Toe The Line! - stand across from partner, two lines, both attack with body shots; then move on to next person.
