– Attacker- At any given time attack with either regular Choke from Behind, Choke from behind with a pull or grab a kicking shield and approach defender from behind. Give a verbal Cue..
– Defender- Make the appropriate self defense or execute a back kick on attackers cue.

Beginning:

Drill: change partners, only straight punch to the face, then add in straight punch low. Change partners often to give defenders a chance to work with different people. For safety punchers should punch with a loose fist to the face and a closed fist to the body.

Intermediate:
Defense vs. hook (extended)

Reflexive defense v. front kick
choke from the front against a wall.
Drill: Defender stands with their back to the wall, attacker either throws a hook punch, front kick to the groin, or makes choke from the front against the wall.

Advanced:
full nelson – finger strip

Beginner:

front kick to the groin, come in for 2 down hammerfists
Round kick
pile of pad drill: all pads get put in the middle of the room, people divide up and go to either side of the room and lay on their bellies. On the instructor "Go" they jump up and scramble to get a pad, hold for either hammerfist forward or round kick. Anyone who doesn't get to a pad, has to make the combatives till instructor calls "time".

Drill: groups of 3, 1 person with back to the wall, defending against an attacker making 360s. 3rd person is behind the 360 attacker and at any point makes a choke from behind pushing them against the wall. The person defending the 360s will have to quickly get out of the way as the choke attack is made.

Punch one direction, kick another

· Instructor- yell “Go”

· Striker- Sprint to the opposite end of the room, 10 squats and sprint back, get back on the pad with strong and aggressive knees

· Repeat

360 Defense

Choke from Front (2 handed)

Drill: Groups of 4 or 5/1 Kicking shield

· 1 defender, 2-3 attackers, 1 pad holder

· Defender- start with non- stop strikes on the pad

· Attackers- non- stop attacks (Front choke, side choke and choke from behind)

· Pad Holder- bump the defender at any given time during this drill

· Defender- Make the appropriate defenseStrong and aggressive defense

Intermediate (A3)

Focus Mitts- Basic combos (Opposite Stance)

Defensive Front Kick

Defensive front kick followed by L/R punch and a Right Elbow strike

360° Defense with combatives

Outside Defense 1-5

Knife Up ward Stab

Drill: 2ppl

· Defender- Eyes closed

· Attacker- Attack with any level 1 technique and Up ward stab.

o After every successful defense, take a step back and attack with a Right Cross

· Defender- Make the correct defense (Strong and Aggressive), stay engaged and defend against the Right Cross.

· Reset

Drill: groups of 3, defender gives knees (uses takedown defense when attacker comes in) 2nd attacker comes in from behind and makes headlock from behind.

Intermediate:
bearhug from the front, leverage on the neck
bearhug from behind, leverage on the finger
drill: Dark ally drill - have everyone close their eyes, go around and tap a few people on the shoulders, they are attackers. When you say go, everyone opens their eyes and wanders around the room, attackers attack. This means that because no one knows who else is an attacker, that attackers might get attacked. Once all attackers have been exposed, reset and pick new people.

Advanced:
Review all low kick defenses
Review all high round kick defenses
General def v. medium to high kicks
sliding def v. high round kicks
