Drill: defender makes short combinations of punches and kicks; when pad holder yells "Go!" the defender bursts forward with knees until the attacker says "Time!"

Drill: defender's eyes are closed; pad holder taps with pad from any angle with the pad held relatively high; defender makes elbow 1, 2, or 3, then continues with counterattacks

Drill: partner moves around, then gives command to strike; defender makes Front Kick Vertical Target, then continues with Palm Strikes until pad holder calls time

Drill: as above, but third person can make Headlock from Behind

INTERMEDIATE CLASS (D2)
Focus Mitts: Left/Right combo
Slipping punches -- emphasize shoulder roll to cover chin
Focus Mitts: Left/Right/slip left/Right
Defense v. High Round Kick (2 or 3 points of contact)
Defense v. Front Kick (plucking/rowing)
Fight Drill: focus mitt holder moves around; either calls out combination above OR makes a high front or round kick

After warm up, review round kicks and side kicks, emphasis on higher kicks

Arm Bar -- use axe kick on the ground after arm break, then kick away and get up
Simple Takedown -- person on the bottom pulls guard, makes Arm Bar, then gets up

Drill: Eyes Closed, defend Headlock from Behind OR makes strikes when shoved by pad holder

Intermediate Class (D2)
Focus Mitts: Build Combination- Jab/Cross/Left Uppercut/Right Uppercut/Left Hook/Right Cross.
Ground- Arm Bar
Ground- Guard Reversal
Inside Defense with Counterattacks
Drill: groups of three; one person starts on the ground with attacker in guard; the defender must reversal positions and get up, then defend straight punches from second attacker; if the defender goes not get up in time, both attackers should pummel him (lightly) until he succeeds in getting up.

BEGINNER (B2)
Straight Punches
Front Groin Kick
DRILL: Reaction 1
Groups of 2 (padholder, striker). Striker always throws 4 Straight Punches and 1 Front Groin Kick for each combo. The padholder determines the start of the combo by what strike is held for first, e.g. if FGK, then the striker begins with the kick and ends with punches and vice versa.

Side Hammerfist
DRILL: Reaction 2
Groups of 3 (2 padholders, 1 striker). Same drill as above, but additional padholder can approach striker for hammerfist strike. Striker should send SHF, then burst into new pad with straight punches before returning to original pad.
Front Choke 2-Hand Pluck

FINAL DRILL:
Groups of 2 (attacker, defender) with additional roaming padholders. Defender works choke defense. Roaming attacker can show up at any point in the defense and hold for Side Hammerfist. Striker sends SHF bursts in with straight punches before resetting.

INTERMEDIATE (D2)
360 Defense w/ Counter (only upper if time is an issue)
DRILL: Ground - Strikes while Mounted
Groups of 2 (one on back, one mounted). All out strikes (punches, elbows, hammerfists, etc.) from striker. On “SWITCH” pad is passed to person in mount (or on bottom, depending) and other person begins striking.

Ground - Trap, Buck and Roll

Advanced Technique : Ground - Downward Stab while Mounted
Combines downward stab defense w/ trap buck and roll. Defend knife with 360 and wrap. Buck and roll into guard. Control the knife arm while sending counters. Best takeaway is disarm by destruction, but can also strike or rub the knife hand on the concrete to open/disarm.

Flow:
(A) attacks with Knife - Downward Stab. (B) defends wraps and sweeps, then mounts (A). (B) begins stabbing (A) in mount. (A) defends, counters, regains knife and the flow resets. After several rounds, switch so (B) begins the flow.

Focus Mitts- 3 rounds of 3 minutes- Basic Combinations; add sprawls and jump knee tucks in rounds 2 & 3.
Bobbing/Weaving/Slipping
Combination: Jab/Cross/Slip Right/Slip Left/Jab/Cross
Drill: Advancing forward: Jab/Cross/Slip Right/Slip Left/Jab/Cross- continuously across the mat
Retreating Back: Jab/Cross/Slip Right/Slip Left/Jab/Cross - continuously across the mat
360 Defense with counterattacks
Reverse Headlock Standing
Drill: defender defends Reverse Headlock, during the defense the attacker steps back and makes a 360 attack

Advanced (D2)
Thai pads: 3 rounds of 2 minutes with 2 minute rest, but during the rest you must run 200 meters.

Drill: Monkey in the middle; groups of 5 - One defender, one pad holder, one attacker and other 2 ppl are holding large shields. The person in the middle is pushed around (safely) by the 2 ppl with large shields, but does not fight back; at any given time the pad holder can jump in and hold for punches or kicks, and the defender must strike until pad holder calls "TIME" Also, another attacker can jump in with Gun from Behind, Knife Downward, or Knife upward. Drill continues until instructor calls switch.

Beginner (B2)
Left/Right Combination
Front Kick Groin
Drill: Groups of 2, one small shield, the pad is placed in the center of the room between the two partners, partners are on opposite sides of the room doing push ups facing way from the pad. On instructors signal "GO", they get up quickly and run to grab a pad. The partner who grabs a pad first is holding, the other striking. Pad holders can either hold for front Kicks or punches. Strikers; fast and aggressive strikes until instructor calls "TIME". Repeat
Head Lock From Behind
Ground- Getting up
Drill: Groups of 3, one small shield, Defender starts on their back, gets up and makes non stop straight punches on the pad, attacker; at any given time makes a headlock. Reset after a successful defense.

Intermediate (D2)
Warm up with, Punches-straight and Elbows
Drill: "Power & Speed"- Striker works the pad with light combinations of punches and elbows; on instructor signal "Fast", striker; makes fast, non-stop strikes on the pad, on instructors signal "Power", striker; attacks the pad with POWER shots. When the instructor calls time, the strikers go back to working the pad with light combinations.
Defense v. Hook Covering
Inside Defense v. Left/Right Counter
Defense v. High Round Kick (2 and 3 points)
Drill: Defender; eyes closed, attacker; gives a verbal signal and makes either of the above strike defenses.
Advanced- Gun to the side of the head
Drill: Groups of 3, small shield, defender; non stop strikes, attacker; any level 1 technique and Gun to the side of the Head

Advanced (D2)
Ground and Pound- 3 rounds of 45 seconds.
