Press Release

Hey everyone, the StrikeFit certification originally scheduled for this weekend is going to be rescheduled. We'll announce the new date later today.

I know that some of you will be disappointed. If you want to attend a cert, PLEASE REGISTER ONLINE. We had six people committed to this course. This is enough to run the course, but we had to reschedule for other reasons.

When we decided to reschedule, I talked with each person personally, and they were OK with the rescheduling. If you did not register, we didn't now you wanted to come, so we did not consult with you.

I'm very sorry for any inconvenience. We want to keep the KM Alliance personal and inter-connected. That's why I contacted all the people myself! But we are just getting too big to simply "know" if you want to come to a course. Please REGISTER, and you will be in the loop, I promise.

Thank you to Marcin Michalik-Lipka and all the instructors and students at Krav Maga Academy Warsaw. You are all warriors, and it was a pleasure to train with you!

Congratulations to the great group of people who passed their Level 4 Instructor Certification. This was a fantastic group, and shows how strong the KM Alliance has become!

Tony M picTony Morrison started his martial arts training at the age of six years old. He was introduced to the art of Shotokan Karate by his uncle who was practicing Karate in a local martial arts studio. That introduction would be the spark that ignited the flames that would forever change Tony's life. Tony enjoyed the rigorous and sometime brutal training he recieved at the famed Tong Dojo in Brooklyn New York. The late Sensei George Cofield was Tony's first martial arts instructor. Growing up in a tough neighborhood in Brooklyn, Karate gave Tony the confidence and the values that kept him focused on success. After several years of training Tony started to compete on the National Karate circuit and became one of the top fighting and forms competitors in the country. It was on the National Karate Circuit where Tony met Billy Blanks the number one fighter in the country at that time, and who later created Tae Bo. Tony trained with him for several years honing the skills that would later take him around the world competing and eventually winning several international titiles.

Over the next several years Tony had the privilege to train in several martial arts systems until coming across Krav Maga. Tony was instantly attracted to the simple but yet effective and aggressive techniques of Krav Maga. Tony started traveling to the west coast in order to learn more about Krav Maga and to become an instructor. Today not only is Tony an instructor and school owner of Krav Maga but he was awarded train the trainer status by John Whitman the creator of the Krav Maga Alliance and a 5th Degree black belt in Krav Maga. Tony is a member of a select group of Krav Maga instructors who travel around the world certifiying and teaching seminars for the Krav Maga Alliance organization.

Our very own Bryin Taylor won a medal at his very first jiu jitsu tournament! He came in 3rd at the Los Angeles International Jiu Jitsu Open. Congratulations, Bryin!

Read the message below written by a police officer who trained with KMA Force instructor John Hallett in Colorado!

"Early Tuesday morning I was searching for a suspect in Colorado Springs, and found him crossing the road in front of my patrol car...as I exited, my car door stripped my taser out of my hand. Before I knew it, the 6'1" 240 lb suspect on meth was right in front of me looking to fight. By instinct, I went for the groin kick, which was enough to distract him long enough to pin him to my car. He started to throw elbows behind him, so I stepped off line and gave him a right hook to the face, cutting him pretty badly (later 5 stitches). He came at me and I used my Judo to sweep him. Even on the ground and covered in blood, he continued to try and get up. By this time we were all over the road and there was still light traffic so I broke contact with him. I drew my taser and ended up hitting him in the back as he tried to run.

Just wanted to extend a thanks for the instruction you gave me last year. Even though I went back to training Jui Jitsu, I still use your shadow boxing warmup to include knees and groin kicks. The fight would have been differant if it werent for this. I also always remember the aggressive nature of Krav, when it comes to my work on the street. Two years ago I would have tried to grapple before I strike, which would have been bad for me considering this guys strength on the meth.

Your Krav Maga saved me that night.

Thanks so much!"
