Drill: Monkey in the Middle- groups of 3; one person in the middle; strikes on pad until hit with pad or attacked with bearhugs, make the appropriate strike or defense.

Thai Pads- 3 Rounds of 2 minutes- Non stop combiations, end every combo with a round kick/Knee- 30 second rest

Palm Heel Strikes
Drill: Groups of 2 (partners should be about same size and hight), Small shield; Non stop Palm Heel Strikes, on instructors signal "GO", striker Fireman or Piggy back carries pad holder to the opposite end of the room and back, and continues with strikes.

Drill: A/B Drill
Ground- Guard Reversal
Ground- Elbow escape (Quick Review)
Flow Drill: Guard Reversal to Elbow Escape; Groups of 2; one partner on their back in mount position, then makes elbow escape, transitions to guard position and from there makes guard reversal, now, the other partner is on the bottom and needs to elbow escape to guard and guard reversal. Repeat!
Reverse Headlock Standing
Drill: Groups of 3; defender; Strikes from the mount, 2nd person safely tackles defender off the pad, and mounts them, defender; makes elbow escape and transitions to guard, from there makes guard reversal technique and stands up, 3rd person then immediately attacks with Reverse Headlock, defender makes a strong defense and Resets.
ADVANCED CLASS
Overhand Right
Muay Thai Pads- 3 rounds of 3 minutes- Combinations, Kicks, Knees and Elbows. Be sure to include Overhand Right in combinations.
** Round 2- add sprawls, plus 4 Push Ups
** Round 3- Double up on the last technique of every combination

Recognition Drill: 1 tombstone pad holder, 1 striker. Striker starts in passive stance with eyes closed, pad holder prompts striker by bumping them with the pad. Striker delivers appropriate elbow (4-7) and then follows up with control position & combatives

Focus Mitt Drill: Free work combinations, pad holder intermittently calls for slap kicks.
Review: Inside Defenses
Inside Defense vs. Left/Right (2 defenses, lean back & trap, and 1-handed variations)
Drill: 1 attacker, 1 defender. Attacker starts outside punching range, Defender starts in fighting stance with eyes shut. Attacker verbally gets defender's attention and waits for defender's eyes to open. Once defender opens their eyes, attacker may burst in with either a single straight punch or a left/right combination. Defender uses appropriate inside defenses.

Review: Gun from Behind, touching
Long Gun from Behind, touching (both sides)
Roaming Attacker Drill: 1-3 roaming attackers with handguns & long-guns available. Rest of class works in pairs, bare-handed focus mitt combinations. Roaming attackers approach strikers only and put a gun in their back. Strikers defend, follow up with combatives, and return to striking once they assess that the attacker is neutralized.

Drill: 1 striker, 1 tombstone pad holder, 1 attacker (with extra tombstone available). Pad holder calls for punch combos 1-4, round kicks & groin kicks. Attacker randomly puts striker in headlock from behind or jolts striker with a tombstone pad and holds for elbow 4 or 5. After striker defends against attacker, immediately return to working with pad holder.

Drill: 1 focus mitt holder, 1 striker, 1 attacker. Striker and pad holder free work. Attacker randomly bear hugs striker with arms free, 1 arm caught, or both arms caught. Striker defends appropriately, finishes the fight, and returns to pad work.

Overhand Right Punch

Knife – off angle upward stab (live & dead side)
Knife – off angle upward stab (live & dead side)
Drill: 1 focus mitt holder (with belly pad if available), 1 striker, 1 attacker. Striker and pad holder free work (mix in overhand punches and 2 front kicks with a switch). Attacker randomly starts stabbing defender from off angle. Defender recognizes angle of attack ASAP and defends appropriately, finishes the fight and returns to pad work. Note: defender may NOT defend early. For the purposes of the drill, the defender must pretend not to know the knife attacker is there until they are already under attack.

Drill - defender starts on their back with an attacker in their guard, both wearing boxing gloves. The attacker tries to stay in guard and deliver as many strikes as possible, while the defender either escapes, reverses, or submits the defender. Round 2 - defender starts with their head near a wall so escape is no longer an option.
Advanced
Long gun from behind, touching
Long gun from the front - live and dead side
Drill - defender starts in the middle of a circle of attackers with kick shields. Padholders bump and generally disrupt the defender while an attacker with a long gun approaches from in front of, to the side, or behind the defender. While the defender is dealing with the gun the padholders break and give space, then return once the defense is complete.
BEGINNER CLASS
Movement – Fighting Stance Moving Forward, Backward, Left, and Right
Round Kick
Drill: “Find your partner around the world.” 1 striker, 1 tombstone pad holder. Striker lays face down, eyes shut. Pad holder relocates somewhere else in the room. When instructor yells, “GO!” strikers get up, find their partner, then throw flurry round kicks & groin kicks as pad holder moves tombstone in U-shape pattern. Once instructor calls, “Time!” striker’s reset and pad holders find a new spot.

A/B Drill: Half the class attacks, other half defends. Defenders stand in passive stance, eyes shut. Attackers may do any of the following: (1) approach with a kick shield and verbally get defender’s attention for Defensive Front Kick, (2) perform a simple tackle of defender to end up in guard, (3) Moderately shove the defender to “knock them down” and grab one of their feet. Safety note: Tackling and shoving defenders should cause an urgent fall, but be controlled enough to allow defenders to successfully Fall Break.
ADVANCED CLASS
Overhand Right Punch
Focus Mitt Drill: Round 1 – Review Combos 7 (Uppercut/Cross/Hook) & 8 (Uppercut/Hook/Cross). Round 2 – Replace all Crosses with Overhand punches for combo “7-Over” (Uppercut/Overhand/Hook) & “8-Over” (Uppercut/Hook/Overhand). Round 3 – Freework combos 7, 7-Over, 8, & 8-Over.
Ground – Leg Triangle from Guard
Sparring Drill: 1-for-1, partners take turns throwing any combination 1-10 (hands only) to set up a basic take-down/tackle to guard. Once in guard, person on bottom executes a Leg Triangle while person on top provides appropriate resistance to make it difficult, but not impossible.
