Front Kick Vertical Target
DRILL: Recognition
Grps 2: Striker, Padholder. Grps set up in various locations. Striker neutral/eyes closed. Instructor designates some item to the be “exit” (cone, chair, etc.) Instructor cues “Begin!” Padholder gives verbal cue to Striker. Striker opens eyes, sends FKVT, scans room to find and get to “exit.” Groups repeat sequence for time as instructor moves “exit” throughout drill.

Elbows 1-3
DRILL: Cue & Do
Grps 2: Striker, Padholder. Striker neutral/eyes closed. Padholder moves around cueing for Elbow 1-3. Striker opens and sends as many of cued elbow until Padholder cues “RESET!”

FINAL DRILL: Roaming Attacker/Role Reversal

After defense, defender roams to new attacker. Previous roaming attacker begins defending against whoever is left from attacked group.

FINAL DRILL:

Drill: Non-stop self-defense techniques, One Arm Shoulder Throw when possible

DRILL:
Grps 2, padholder, striker. All out Hammerfists, on instructor’s cue: “UP!”=standing, “KNEES!”=both kneeling, “BACK!”=striker on back, pad held over for strikes. Rotate through positions.

DRILL: FINAL - Modifed Bull in the Ring
Grps 4: Striker, 3 Padholders. Striker A lies on back, padholders on either side, other padholder standing with tombstone. On “GO!” side padholders cue for Ground - Round Kicks. On “HAMMERS!” 3rd padholder positions pad over striker’s chest for all out HFs. Repeat for time.

Rnd 1: Padholder moves around striker, cues for headbutt, any direction.
Rnd 2: Same as above, but striker follows headbutt, turning toward padholder and finishing with various strikes to tombstone.

DRILL:
Grps 2: Striker, Padholder
Padholder, with focus mitts cue for either side Spinning Heel Kick. Striker switches feet/sends kick appropriately.

Sliding Defense vs. Spinning Heel Kick
SPARRING: TRIGGER
Grps 2: A, B. Determine A/B starts round with Spinning Heel Kick. Other person performs Sliding Defense, then regular sparring, 30s round.

Advanced Gun Behind - Attacker Close/Hug Defense

BEGINNER (B1)
Warmup Drill: Movement Maze
Set a course of cones throughout the room. Students stand facing forward at the "start" and must navigate from cone to cone while always facing forward. Course should be set so students must move forward, back, left, right in fighting stance.
Straight Punch w/ Retreat
Elbows 4-7
Headlock from Behind
*In addition to the regular partner practice, incorporate a portion allowing students to try to intercept the headlock before it gets locked in. Attacker should attempt to be sneaky. Start with the defender's eyes open. Add some with eyes closed.

Final Drill:
Defender sends retreating punches. Additional attacker can approach and cue for rear elbow (suggest 4 or 3) for safety, or can attack with Rear Headlock.

INTERMEDIATE (D1)
Advancing Front Groin Kick

Drill: Reaction
Defender moves from kneeling to standing. Attacker can send Front kick at any point during the defender's movement requiring the appropriate, or adaptation, of the Front Kick Defenses.

Rear Choke w/ Pull

Final Drill:
Attacker applies Rear Choke w/ Pull. During defense, attacker can attempt to get out of defense and send Front Kick. Defender must defend the kick and reset.

ADVANCED (D1)
Warmup Drill: LIGHT Kicks
Padholder walks around striker cuing for various stomp kicks (front kick vertical target, side, back). Striker sends light/medium power kicks.

2 Jumping Front Kicks
2 Back Kicks w/ Switch
One Arm Shoulder Throw
Headlock Behind, attacker jumping (throw)

Final Drill:
Cue for 2 Jumping Front Kicks (as attacker is stunned by the ninja awesomeness) finish with One Arm Shoulder Throw. Can also cue rear for 2 Back Kicks w/ Switch. Finally can tactilely cue by jumping for Rear Headlock Throw.

BEGINNER CLASS (B1)

Drill: non-stop strikes on instructor's command, end each flurry with a sprawl

Sparring - hands and feet, 1 minute rounds

Drill: sparring as above; but one group closes it's eyes; in the other group, each person chooses a new partner and initiates the attack by pushing; the first person reacts and the fight begins

Line Drill: 5-6 ppl per line; 1st person on line is the defender, everyone else is attacking, Headlock from behind (either side). Rotate defenders.

Intermediate (D1)
Basic Combatives
Drill: Monkey in the Middle- groups of 3, one person in the middle; strike one pad until hit with the other pad; turn with appropriate strikes and engage that pad. 60 seconds each person
Ground- Choke from the side
Ground- Headlock side Forward
Drill: Defender on their back eyes closed, attacker; Choke from the side, Headlock side Forward

Advanced (D1)
Light Sparring
- Round 1- Hands only- one defender and one attacker, movement, block, bob and weave. (no counters) switch!
- Round 2- same as above- Add kicks
- Round 3- Add counters
Ground- Leg Triangle from the Guard
Ground- Guillotine

Striker; non-stop straight punches, the instructor calls out a number of forward rolls (ie. 2, 3, 4….), the striker must execute the number of forward rolls called out by the instructor. Be sure to stay in front of your partner, stand up as soon as you’re done.

Advanced (D1)

Thai Pads: 2 rounds of 2 minutes

Gun - Advanced, Kneeling Position

Ground - Defense vs. Guillotine

DRILL - FINAL: Role Reversal

Grps 2. A/B. A begins on knees, B standing with gun. As B attempts defense, A can attempt to push B to ground. If B is successful, complete defense. If B is pushed over, gun should be thrown away and A mounts B. B applies Guillotine, A defends and finds gun. Repeat for time.
