Drill: Defender; stands slightly away from the wall with their eyes closed, attacker makes a choke with a push, defender is either early and is able to defend using Rotational defense or is late and has to defend the choke against the wall.

Drill: Groups of 3, Large Kicking shield; Defender; eyes closed, pad holder; (safely) shoves defender with the pad, defender makes a Back Fallbreak, quickly gets up and follows up with strikes, attacker; makes either Choke from behind with a pull or Bearhug behind (lifting)

Groups of 3. Striker/Defender, Padholder, Attacker. Same drill as above, however on “GO!” Attacker can apply Rear Headlock at any point during combo.

DRILL - FINAL:
Groups of 2, Defender, Attacker. Defenders neutral/eyes closed. Attacker applies Choke Rear w/ Pull. If possible, Attacker can pull out of defense and attack with 360.

DRILL - FINAL/SPARRING:
Groups of 2. Sixty seconds of free sparring, strip gloves, sixty seconds Gun Defenses. Repeat twice per group, so each can be Defender/Attacker. Switch partners and repeat.

DRILL:

DRILL - FINAL: Resistant Attacker
Attacker applies Choke - Rear. During defense, Attacker can back out of defense, if possible, and send 360.

Defense vs. High Round Kick (2 & 3 Points)
DRILL:
Same as above, but Attacker adds High Round Kick to attack list.

TRIGGER SPARRING:
Groups of 2. Designate A and B. Begin facing each other. On instructor’s cue of A or B, the letter called sends Straight + Hook + High Round Kick combo. Defender defends each strike then both begin sparring as normal. After several rounds with partner, cue A or B to attack a new person. Defenders should scan room to identify new Attacker prior to getting attacked.

Drill: One defender/One attacker; light sparring open palm, at any given time attacker steps back to make space and attacks with knife. Make the appropriate defense and continue light sparring.

BEGINNER (B2)
Basic Takedown Defense (Changing Height, Moving Feet)
Knees w/ Clinch
DRILL:
Groups 2, Defender, Padholder. Padholder circles Defender, Defender orients staying square to Attacker. Attacker shoots forward trying to put pad against Defender’s hips. Defender defends, clinches and sends a series of Knees.

Hammerfist Side
DRILL:
Roaming Padholders. Defenders neutral, eyes closed. Padholder cues from either side for Side HF. Striker sends, orients for Clinch and sends series of Knees before resetting.

Choke Front w/ Push
DRILL-FINAL:
Roaming Attackers can cue with Choke, Pad Tap for HF/Knee combo above, or verbal cue/takedown attempt. Defender resets after appropriate reaction.

Ground - Trap and Roll
Ground - Arm Bar from Guard (Flow as finisher to Trap and Roll)
Ground - Guard Reversal (Flow after Trap and Roll, into Mount, repeat)

DRILL/FLOW-FINAL:
Groups of 2. One person starting in Mount. First goal is for person on back to Trap and Roll, gaining dominant position. If successful, both partners can then attempt to counter (Arm Bar, if on top, Guard Reversal, if on bottom). Reset after, swapping starting positions.

DRILL:
Roaming Attackers. Other students spread out in fighting stance. Attackers roam, taking others to the ground using any of the options above.

DRILL-FINAL: Duck, Duck, Krav
Same setup as above, but knives are scattered across floor. Attacker can choose any student to take to ground. After takedown, Attacker scrambles to find a knife and return to attack. Defender must get to feet ASAP to respond to attack.

BEGINNER (B2)
Straight Punches
Front Groin Kick
DRILL: Reaction 1
Groups of 2 (padholder, striker). Striker always throws 4 Straight Punches and 1 Front Groin Kick for each combo. The padholder determines the start of the combo by what strike is held for first, e.g. if FGK, then the striker begins with the kick and ends with punches and vice versa.

Side Hammerfist
DRILL: Reaction 2
Groups of 3 (2 padholders, 1 striker). Same drill as above, but additional padholder can approach striker for hammerfist strike. Striker should send SHF, then burst into new pad with straight punches before returning to original pad.
Front Choke 2-Hand Pluck

FINAL DRILL:
Groups of 2 (attacker, defender) with additional roaming padholders. Defender works choke defense. Roaming attacker can show up at any point in the defense and hold for Side Hammerfist. Striker sends SHF bursts in with straight punches before resetting.

INTERMEDIATE (D2)
360 Defense w/ Counter (only upper if time is an issue)
DRILL: Ground - Strikes while Mounted
Groups of 2 (one on back, one mounted). All out strikes (punches, elbows, hammerfists, etc.) from striker. On “SWITCH” pad is passed to person in mount (or on bottom, depending) and other person begins striking.

Ground - Trap, Buck and Roll

Advanced Technique : Ground - Downward Stab while Mounted
Combines downward stab defense w/ trap buck and roll. Defend knife with 360 and wrap. Buck and roll into guard. Control the knife arm while sending counters. Best takeaway is disarm by destruction, but can also strike or rub the knife hand on the concrete to open/disarm.

*Caution that a sweep may not be the greatest idea due to getting closer to/falling on the knife, but sets up for a fun flow.

Flow:
(A) attacks with Knife - Downward Stab. (B) defends wraps and sweeps, then mounts (A). (B) begins stabbing (A) in mount. (A) defends, counters, regains knife and the flow resets. After several rounds, switch so (B) begins the flow.
