Straight Punch
Palm Heel Strike
Hammerfist Forward
Drill: Tombstone pad holder calls for a number between 1 and 6. Striker throws that number of hand combatives in broken rhythm (not just left/right), using a combination of Straight Punch, Palm Heel Strike, and Hammerfist Forward.
Drill: Striker begins with nonstop aggressive hand combatives. After 15 seconds, instructor calls "DOWN!" and both Pad holder and Striker move to kneeling, where Striker continues a flurry of hand strikes. After another 15 seconds, Striker safely gets on back, Pad holder stands over them, and Striker must throw hand combatives from the prone position. On instructor's call of "UP!" they move back to kneeling. The last 15 seconds should be with both Striker and Pad holder standing.
Choke from the Front (1-handed)

Drill: A/B Drill. A's stand in neutral position with eyes closed. B's are roaming attackers and can attack with Choke from the Front (1-handed) or Choke from the Front with a Push.

Drill: Striker begins in neutral with eyes closed. Pad holder gives verbal cue at very close range from either the front, side, or behind. Striker performs appropriate headbutt, then when pad holder takes a step back, follows up with mid-range Level 1 combatives, i.e. punches/palms, or hammerfist to side followed up by punches/palms until pad holder calls "TIME!"
Drill: Same as previous drill except instead of only taking a step back after the headbutt, Pad holder can stay in the same spot. If Pad holder does not take a step back, Striker should turn and face and follow up with frame-hold or clinch knees until Pad holder calls "TIME!"
Choke Behind Against Wall £

Drill: A/B Drill: A's line up facing wall. B's are roaming attackers and can attack with Choke from Behind Against a Wall, Choke from Behind with a Pull, or grab a pad and verbal cue for Headbutt Backward to follow up combatives (hand strikes or knees) until B calls "TIME!"
ADVANCED CLASS (B1)
Jumping Spinning Back Kick
Drill: Shared Interval Round 1: Partner groups; 1 curved kick shield; 4 minute round. 15 seconds maximum effort, on instructor's call of "SWITCH" Partner A gives pad to B and immediately begins striking with the same combative B just completed. Combatives in this order: 1) hand combatives, 2) Front Kick Groin, 3) 2 punches and a push up, 4) Jumping Spinning Back Kick.
Drill: Shared Interval Round 2: Same as above with the following order of combatives: 1) Straight Punches, 2) Jumping Spinning Back Kick, 3) Round Kick to a Sprawl (alternating kicking leg), 4) clinch knees.
Gun to the Side of the Head
Drill: Groups of 3; 1 Pad holder; 1 Attacker; 1 Striker/Defender. Pad holder holds for any two hand combatives or 1 kick (round kick, Front Kick Groin, Front Kick to a Vertical Target, Jumping Spinning Back Kick, etc.). Striker must throw the appropriate combative based on the hold. Attacker can apply Gun to the Side of the Head at any time. Striker makes defense and immediately returns to striking pad.
BEGINNER CLASS (B1)

Drill: 1 striker, 1 tombstone pad holder. Striker starts in passive stance, pad holder bumps striker with pad. Striker delivers either elbow 4 or 5 and gets to control position as quick as possible. 3-5 combatives once in control position before resetting.

Drill: Same as above, but now add headlock from behind to possible attacks
INTERMEDIATE CLASS (B1)
Uppercut back kick
Drill: Partners practice delivering uppercut back kick & turning into control position as quick as possible. Deliver combatives once in control position before resetting.
Ground - Headlock from side (weight forward)
Ground - Headlock from side (weight back)
Rodeo Drill: 1 minute rounds. Each partner gets to be attacker (Ground - headlock from side) for a full minute. Attacks may only shift weight forward & backward to prevent defender from escaping. Defender must escape as many times as possible in 1 minute.
ADVANCED CLASS (B1)
Jumping Spinning Back Kick
Thai Pads: 3, 1-minute rounds. Freework combinations. Mix in as many jumping spinning back kicks as possible.
Ground - Guillotine
Ground - Defense vs. Guillotine
Ground Sparring: 90 second rounds. Both participants try for submissions (maintaining a dominant position is a secondary objective). Light palm strikes are allowed, particularly if any participants attempt to simply hold on and stop trying to improve their position.

Drill: Partners traveling in 1 lane so as not to collide with anyone else. Pad holder has a tomb stone. Starting in punching range, pad holder will either advance one step or retreat one step. Striker will respond as quickly as possible and deliver an advancing straight punch or a retreating straight punch
Choke from the side
Drill: Groups of 4. 1 tombstone pad holder, 1 defender, 1 attacker, and 1 bystander. Defender must throw broken flurries w/ full aggression at the pad. Bystander “interferes” with Defender by body blocking the pad, pulling the defender away, or pushing the defender away. The Bystander must make it difficult, not impossible, for the Defender to get back to the pad to continue with flurries. The Defender may not hit, push, pull, or otherwise “fight” the Bystander. The defender must use footwork to get around the Bystander. At any point, the Attacker may choke the defender from either side, which the Defender will address with choke from the side defense.
INTERMEDIATE CLASS (B1)
360 Defense w/ Counter
Reflexive Defense vs. Front Groin Kick
DRILL:Groups of 2, Attacker, Defender. Defender begins neutral. Attacker steps in to send either a 360 attack or FGK. Defend, counter, finish and reset.
Rear Choke w/ Pull
FINAL – DRILL:Partner up the class into groups of 2 then further divide in half. One half will be working the drill from earlier. Other half will roam attacking the ATTACKERS from the other group with Rear Choke w/ Pull.
ADVANCED CLASS (B1)
Punch one direction, kick in another
Drill: Group of 3. 1 focus mitt holder, 1 striker, 1 kick shield holder. Focus mitt holder and striker free work. Kick shield holder approaches striker and gets attention verbally. Striker includes a kick with any punch of the current combination.
Full Nelson – throw
Full Nelson – sweep
Drill: Defender stands in the middle of a crash pad with eyes closed. Attacker applies full nelson. Defender either throws attacker forward or sweeps attacker backward and finishes with combatives.

Grps 3, Pad, Striker, Distractor. Striker sends all out Palm Heels. Distractor attempts to pull, move, obstruct strikes.

Drill: 2 people w/ boxing gloves. First round, one person attacking the whole time. Attacker throws any odd numbered combination (1, 3, 5, etc.) then throws a big looping right punch immediately after. Defender uses a combination of head movement and covering to address the combination being thrown. Upon seeing the big looping right punch, defender uses outside defense vs. right punch to capitalize on attacker’s opening. Second round, switch roles. Third round, alternate 1-for-1.
Bearhug Behind – Leverage on finger
Drill: A/B drill. Group A positions themselves with space all around on the mat and closes their eyes. Group B then attacks with bearhug from behind. Then groups switch roles.

Sparring: Boxing gloves, shin guards, & head gear. Light free-work sparring. The goal is to find openings to throw spinning heel kick and recognize spinning heel kicks being thrown. Safety Note: Spinning heel kicks should be thrown with as much control as possible and targeting the shoulder instead of the head in the event the defender fails to recognize the attack or appropriately defend.

B can hold for Ground – Front Kick or Ground – Round Kick depending on angle. After making appropriate kick, A will perform Tactical Get-Up and return to eyes closed.

Drill: Shared Interval Round 1: Partner groups; 1 curved kick shield; 4 minute round. 15 seconds maximum effort, on instructor's call of "SWITCH" Partner A gives pad to B and immediately begins striking with the same combative B just completed. Combatives in this order: straight punches, front kick groin, low round kick right leg, low round kick left leg.
Drill: Shared Interval Round 2: Same as above with the following order of combatives: palm strikes, forward hammerfists, 2 low round kicks right and 2 low round kicks left, sprawl to knee.

Drill: Trigger Sparring: Begin with hands only. Whenever, A throws a low round kick at B, Be defends with shin block or absorb and immediately applies a Bearhug from above. B should give active resistance and force A to maintain feet and balance. As soon as A begins follow-up combatives after bearhug defense, A and B return to hand sparring.
ADVANCED CLASS (A3)

Round 1: Free work
Round 2: 1K-10K. If combo finishes with rear leg, add hook/cross. If combo finishes with lead leg, add cross/hook.
Round 3: Add opposite kick after hook/cross or cross/hook, i.e. 2K= Jab/cross/lead kick/cross/hook/rear kick
Stick Overhead v. left or right handed attacker
Drill: Dive for the Stick: Have partners line up facing each other at the center of the mat with the stick between them. Partners should be equidistant from the stick, with elbows on knees. On instructor's call of "GO!" students attempt to grab the stick. Whoever can get it first gets to be the attacker for Stick Overhead using right or left hand and partner must make defense. Play with variations of distance (3 steps away, at opposite ends of the mat) and how they must get there (begin on stomach facing away from knife, bear crawl, army crawl, etc.). Rotate one line at regular intervals to allow for different match-ups.
