Drill: parker calls out punching combo ("Left, Left, Right!", Right, Left, Right!", etc.)
Inside Defense
Choke form the Front with a push- work both sides
Drill: defender- eyes closed, defend choke from the Front with a push with various angles or on attackers verbal signal make Inside Defense.

INTERMEDIATE CLASS (A2)
Review basic strikes- Straight punches, Hammerfist etc.
Drill: 3- 45 second rounds of non-stop AGGRESSIVE strikes, 15 second rest between rounds, movement, light strikes 70% speed/Power.
Defensive Front Kick
Knees- Thai Clinch (quick review)
Combo: Defensive Front Kick, Knees- Thai Clinch
Inside Defense v. Left/Right

Drill: defend Bearhug or Inside Defense v. Left/Right, eyes closed

Conditioning Drill:

10 Push Ups
10 Round Kicks (5 each side)
10 Sit up/ Stand up (partner assist)

4 Rounds as fast as possible, then switch with your partner. See which pair can finish first!

Drill: Groups of 4-5, one large shield; defender; non-stop strikes, attackers; non-stop attacks (any level 1&2, include Knife attacks)

Beginner: (A1)

Drill: Groups of 3. 1 tombstone pad holder, 1 attacker, and 1 defender. Defender throws broken flurries on tombstone. Attacker randomly chokes defender from behind. Defender must perform skill finishing with 3-5 combatives before hurrying back to strike the tombstone.

Intermediate (A1):
Review back fall breaks
Forward rolls and backward rolls
Forward roll to back fall break
Drill: Partners with 1 kick shield. Defender sprints across mat and performs forward roll to back fall break. Kick shield holder gives chase at a jogging pace. Defender delivers front kick from the ground upon completing fall break, stands up, and delivers 3-5 combatives on the kick shield.

Advanced (A1):
Mouth of hand punch
Jumping round kick
Gun from behind (touching)
Drill: Groups of 3. 1 kick shield holder, 1 gunman, and 1 defender. Defender throws jumping round kicks, switching sides as pad holder dictates. Gunman randomly attacks defender by touching the gun to their back. Defender responds finishing with combatives and confirming control over the weapon before immediately returning to throwing jumping round kicks.

BEGINNER CLASS (A1)

Palm Heel Strike

Drill: Sprint- Push up drill

Palm Heel Strike combo: Left/Left/Right/Left/Right

Hammerfist to the side

Choke from Behind

Drill: groups of 4; monkey in the middle with two pad holders; defender makes hammerfists and Palm Heel strikes; now and then, the fourth person does Choke from Behind.

 

INTERMEDIATE CLASS (A1)

Combo #6 (Left Hook/Right Cross/Left Hook) – emphasize bursting in on first hook

Grps of 2: Begin at one end of gym. On GO! strikers punch padholder to next cone/position. Short rest. Repeat to other side of gym.

Combo: Forward/Rear Straight + Rear Elbow (padholder steps back) + FKVT

Ground-Neck Leverage Variation*
*Attacker in guard, close. If defender cannot create space for Kick Off, perform a several defense as neck leverage bearhug, reaching around head and peeling. Include a buck as the attacker rolls off.

Final Drill:
Attack Options:
Push and chase as defender performs Forward Roll Back Fall Break. Get into guard, additional attacks based on student experience.

Choke from the front, 2 handed pluck

Drill – Eyes closed, defender either gets choked and has to defend or gets popped with a pad and makes punches to the pad until pad holder calls time.

 

INTERMEDIATE CLASS (A1)

Focus Mitt Combination: Left, Right, Left Hook, Headbutt forward

Kick off from guard

Choke from the Side on the Ground – show kicking first, similar to kick off from guard

Choke from the Side on the Ground – arm bar

Drill: Choke from the Side — if the attacker stays close, use arm bar; if you can make space,kick him away; get up and work focus mitts (use today’s combo) then drop down and restart.

 

ADVANCED CLASS (A1)

Focus mitt or Thai pads one round regular stance, next round opposite stance opposite stance

Drill: Groups of 3; Belt Drill with Thai pads or Focus Mitts Mash up! 1 Round of 90 seconds.

DRILL: Bull in Ring
Groups of 4-5, Striker, 3 Padholders, 1 Focus Mitt Holder (if possible). Striker in Ground Back Position. Padholder positioned for Front Kick and either Side Kick, Focus Mitt Holder Kneeling by Striker’s head. Padholders cue for cue, Focus Mitt distracts with head swats if available. On “UP!” cue Striker gets up appropriately.

Choke - Rear
DRILL-FINAL:
Same as above, but repeat for multiple rounds. On “UP!” Striker gets up, either a Padholder or Focus Mitt holder applies Choke. After defense, Striker returns to Ground position.

DRILL:
Groups 2, Striker, Padholder. Instructor cues with number 1-4, indicating Bas Combo. After cue, Striker performs Front Kick w/ Advance followed by cued Bas Combo. Repeat for multiple rounds.

Headlock Side
DRILL-FINAL:
Same as above but Padholder cues with number. Rotate through selecting pairs to roam and apply Headlock Side to Strikers.

Groups of 2. Thai Pad Holder cues for combo, Striker sends combo adding opposite side Round House Kick based on last punch thrown.

BEGINNER CLASS (A1)

Drill: Defender starts eyes closed. Attacker alternates randomly between bump with kick shield for hammerfist to the side and choke from side. Defender must get to control position and deliver 3-5 knees (if kick shield is present) or 3-5 general combatives if kick shield is absent.

INTERMEDIATE CLASS (A1)
Headbutts (forward, side, backward, and upward)
Bearhug Front (arms caught and arms free)
Focus mitt combos: defender starts with eyes shut, mitt holder places focus mitt very near defender's face and verbally gets defender's attention. Defender delivers appropriate headbutt followed by 2-3 combinations called by mitt holder.
Drill: Pad holder holds tombstone for broken flurries. Instructor yells, "GO," striker grabs pad, throws it aside and bearhugs pad holder from front (arms caught or free).

ADVANCED CLASS (A1)
Review front kick and side kick
Jumping front kick and side kick
Gun from side, behind the arm (touching)
Drill: Multiple attacker. 1-2 attackers with gun(s), 1-3 attackers with kick shields. Defender starts eyes closed, gun wielding attacker places weapon on defender's side behind the arm. Defender responses and once disarm occurs, kick shield attacker immediately issues verbal threat. Defender responds with jumping front kick or jumping side kick as determined by body position relative to kick shield.

Drill: Groups of 3-4, non-stop Gun threats; 2 rounds- first round 50% speed and power, second round- Fast, Strong and aggressive!!
