Beginner (A1)

Straight Punches

Knee Strikes- Forward knee (emphasize the switch)

Elbows 1-3

Introduce Muay Thai Pads: 3 Rounds of 2 Minutes; Straight Punches, Elbows, Knees and Round Kicks.Round 1- L-Punch, R-Punch, R- Elbow, L-Knee

Round 2- R- Punch, L-Punch, R-Round Kick

Round 3- Put both combos together

Choke from the Front

Drill: Groups of 3; One Defender, One Attacker, One Pad Holder; Attacker; Makes Choke from the front, defender makes an aggressive defense; Pad holder; bumps defender during His/Her defense and holds for straight punches.  Once bumped defender immediately transitions to that pad with non stop strikes until pad holder calls “Time”. Reset!


Intermediate (C1)

Hook Punch

Headbutt forward

Focus Mitt Combo: Left, Right, L-Hook, Headbutt forward

Kick off the Guard

Ground- Choke from the side- show kick first, similar to kick off the guard

Ground- Choke from the side- Arm Bar

Ground- Headlock Side Backward

Drill: eyes closed. Attacker; makes choke from the side or headlock from side. When defending Choke from the side- if the attackers stays  close, use arm bar; if you can make space, Kick him away; After each successful defense, get up and work focus mitts (use today’s combo) then drop and restart.


Advanced (C1)

General Strikes to a large kicking shield; Include side kicks and back kicks

Drill: groups of 3; 2 pad holders; one defender; the defender must attacks one target; when he is bumped by another pad, he must transition to that pad immediately; pad holders should strike from behind and the sides from various distances, so that the defender must choose the appropriate weapon (side kick, back kick, etc)

Machine Gun Takedown

Advanced Gun- from the front, assailant pushing

Advanced Gun- from Kneeling position
