BEGINNER CLASS (A3)
Movement – basic footwork
Drill: Movement — partner moves forward, throwing very light punches; defender moves feet to the side, back, etc. to stay out of range. The defender should try NOT to simply run away, but should try to move so that punches cannot reach.
Advanced Technique: Gun from Behind
INTERMEDIATE CLASS (A3)
Focus Mitts: Left/Right/Liver Shot/pivot left
Hair Grab from Side
Arm Gar from Guard
Drill: defender stands with eyes closed; attacker grabs hair and pulls; if the defender succeeds in making the hair grab defense, the drill starts again; if the defender falls to their knees, the attacker continues to fight; the defender pulls guard and makes an arm bar.
NOTE: you can make this drill safer by adding a verbal command — the attacker can decide if the defender succeeds by saying “Down, down!” in this case, the defender must drop down and defend from the ground.
ADVANCED CLASS (A3)
2 Opponents – Knife and Stick
